Meet Nils
Nils Voulfson is a bodyworker, writer, facilitator, community organizer, and grief tender based in Austin.
He creates space where the group field is created in the moment by all participants, and his leadership style is highly relational. Read more of Nils' somewhat coherent thoughts on relationship on his blog.
Nils offers guidance and insight for those seeking a more grounded, heart-ful way of relating to themselves and others.
Outside of offering bodywork and holding grief space, Nils enjoys spending his time around water, in beautiful natural spaces, sharing time with friends, stewarding his mens group, and engaging in many forms of dance.
Bodywork Approach
Nils offers body journeys that build on traditional massage therapy. As part of the intake the receiver is invited to check in with themselves and set and intention for the session. Through curiosity and attuned touch Nils guides the receiver into a state of present awareness with their body.
In this way, each session is seen as a collaboration between giver and receiver as well as a practice in presence. Bodywork as A medium of present awareness can help move energy and in this space clients can open up to the bliss and relaxation available to them, while making space to feel any emotions along the way.
“The places I want to go, only softness can take me.”
Grief
From a young age, Nils has been in touch with many forms of personal and collective grief, which led him to dive into the grief tending lineages of Sobonfu Somé, Martín Prechtel, and Francis Weller. In 2025 Nils trained in grief work with Josh Fox and Siobhan Asgharzadeh and has been offering grief rituals and support groups since.
Nils draws on his experience with somatic approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing to bring deeper connection to the body in this tender terrain of grief.
